Steam (Recommended):

  1. Fill your steamer with water and bring it to a rolling boil over high heat.

  2. Place frozen xiao long bao in the steamer basket, leaving space between each dumpling to prevent sticking.

  3. Cover and steam for 8–9 minutes once steam is visibly rising.

  4. Carefully remove and serve immediately with black vinegar and julienned ginger.

Note:
– If cooking from frozen, add an extra 1–2 minutes.

XIAO LONG BAO FAQ

What are Xiao Long Bao?

Xiao Long Bao are delicate Chinese soup dumplings traditionally filled with seasoned pork and a rich, savoury broth. Steamed to perfection, each bite releases a burst of warm, flavourful soup inside a soft, thin wrapper.

How do I cook them?

Steam is the best method. Place the dumplings in a steamer lined with parchment or cabbage leaves, leaving space between each one. Steam over boiling water for 8–9 minutes (add 1–2 extra minutes if frozen). Be gentle when removing—they’re fragile!

Do I need a dipping sauce?

Yes, we recommend serving with black vinegar and thinly sliced ginger for a classic Shanghai-style experience. Soy sauce or chilli oil can also be great alternatives.

Can I pan-fry or air-fry them?

We don’t recommend frying Xiao Long Bao, as the delicate skin may break and the soup inside can leak out. Steaming is the best way to enjoy their signature juicy centre.

Why is the filling hot?

The dumplings contain hot broth inside, which is released as you bite into them. Always allow them to cool slightly and enjoy with care to avoid burns.

Can I freeze them?

Yes! Our soup dumplings come frozen fresh with no added MSG, preservatives, or artificial colours. Keep them in your freezer until you’re ready to steam and enjoy.
