How to cook Crispy Vegetable and Pork Spring Rolls

Air-Fry (Recommended – Crispy & Healthier)

  • Preheat air fryer to 180°C (350°F)
  • Place frozen spring rolls in a single layer (do not overcrowd)
  • Lightly spray or brush oil on the surface of the rolls
  • Cook for 12–15 minutes total
  • Turn rolls over halfway through (after about 6–7 minutes) for even crispiness
  • Texture: golden, crispy shell, juicy filling

Deep-Fry (Extra Crispy & Golden)

  • Use a medium deep pot or wok (22–24cm diameter, 8–10cm deep)
  • Add enough oil to reach about 5–6cm depth (approx. 1.5–2 liters depending on pot size)
  • Heat oil to 170–175°C (340–350°F) – check with a thermometer if possible
  • Gently lower frozen spring rolls into the oil – do not drop directly into hot oil (to avoid splashing)
  • Fry for 5–6 minutes, turning occasionally, until evenly golden brown
  • Maintain oil temperature between 165–175°C throughout frying
  • Remove and drain well on paper towels before serving
  • Texture: extra crispy outside, hot juicy filling

Oven-Bake (Convenient – Lighter Crisp)

  • Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F)
  • Place frozen spring rolls on a parchment-lined tray
  • Lightly brush or spray with oil for best results
  • Bake for 18–20 minutes, turning halfway through
  • Texture: evenly baked, crunchy but lighter than deep-fried

Important Safety Notes

  • Always cook from frozen – do not thaw
  • Never overcrowd the oil or air fryer, cook in small batches
  • Ensure internal temperature reaches 74°C / 165°F before serving

Beginner-Friendly House Dip (3 minutes):

SPRING ROLL FAQ

How do I eat spring rolls?

Spring rolls are ready to enjoy once cooked to crispy perfection! They make a great appetiser, party snack, or side dish. Dip them in your favourite sauce—like sweet chilli, soy, or plum sauce—or simply enjoy them on their own for a satisfying crunch.

What’s inside these spring rolls?

Each roll is packed with a savoury mix of pork, carrots, shiitake mushrooms, black fungus, and cabbage, seasoned with soy sauce, sesame oil, and oyster sauce. The filling is flavourful, juicy, and perfectly balanced in taste and texture.

What’s the best way to cook them?

For that classic crispy bite, deep fry or air fry them straight from frozen. Deep frying gives you the traditional crunch, while air frying is a lighter alternative with less oil. Either way, they’re golden and delicious in under 10 minutes.

Are spring rolls the same as egg rolls?

Not quite. Spring rolls have a thinner, crispier wrapper and are typically packed with finely chopped veggies and meat. Egg rolls—more common in American-Chinese cuisine—tend to have a thicker, chewier skin. Our version stays true to traditional Chinese flavours and texture.

Do they need a dipping sauce?

These rolls are full of flavour on their own, but a dipping sauce can take them to the next level. Try them with sweet chilli, soy sauce, or black vinegar for an added flavour boost.
